For equipment and sensor interconnects, fiber provides a very large amount of bandwidth transmitted at very high speeds, ensuring seamless communication. Fiber is also in the semiconductor segment as a post manufacturing inspection and analysis tool. During this process, automated machines utilize fiber optic imaging to view, inspect, analyze, and grade finished wafers and other semiconductor products. Fiber optic imaging technology allows automated equipment to gather and analyze a very large amount of information about the quality and expected performance of the finished part at very high rates of speed. This helps reduce manufacturing time and virtually eliminates any issues associated with human error and quality control.
